Real Estate Matters

30 years of experience handling real estate matters

Although my practice is concentrated in matrimonial law, I have 30 years of experience handling real estate closings representing buyers and sellers in residential transactions. I regularly handle closings but I do not handle a high volume of closings. I am committed to delivering my real estate clients that same level of personal service that I give to my matrimonial clients.

I have extensive experience in handling closings that are incidental to a divorce as well as experience resolving title issues for clients, including litigation. I know that a well-written matrimonial agreement must include carefully written and detailed provisions related to a marital home. These may provide for the immediate sale of the home, the transfer of the title of the house between spouses, or the eventual sale of a residence, such as when the children are emancipated. Many divorce attorneys avoid handling closings. Some have no experience with issues related to title transfers, mortgage assumptions or refinances, or forced sales. I believe that being knowledgeable about real estate matters is essential to being a competent matrimonial attorney. I use my extensive real estate experience to protect my matrimonial clients and their homes.
